A cyber-attack has targeted a trust that runs schools across Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. Active Learning Trust, which runs Neale-Wade Academy in March and Chesterton Primary School, was hit by a ransomware attack on Wednesday, July 10.

The cyber-attack took place in the morning, and the trust has confirmed that there has been no impact on pupil, parent or staff members' information. The eight Cambridgeshire schools and 11 Suffolk schools under Active Learning Trust have remained open.

A spokesperson for Active Learning Trust said: “Active Learning Trust experienced a ransomware attack that impacted parts of our network. We took immediate action to investigate the attack, working with a specialised cyber response team to address the issue swiftly and effectively.
